Well thought out dog training books will be organized and accessible to the reader. The chapters should relatively brief and informative and the information should be presented in a logical manner. If a puppy owner is concerned with crate training for their puppy, the better dog training books will have a clear title for that chapter and address the problem quickly.
Several things can be at fault with a barking dog. If an area is fenced off, but with a clear view of annoyances, like loud cars and noisy kids, he will inevitably bark. If you have a neighbor who regularly walks by, and perpetually yells at or scares the dog, things will only get worse. In this case, talk to the neighbor and ask him to treat the dog properly. Try fencing off the area of the yard that irritates him so much. If he can't see it, he may calm down. Spray barking collars are very popular. It has a device in the front, directly beneath the dogs' chin. When he barks, an unpleasant smelling spray is emitted. Dogs don't like a spray in their noses, and the sound may also startle him. This dog collar treatment is not painful, and is considered by most to be humane.
Choke barking collars may be scary for your dog, but is supposed to be completely safe. When the dog barks, the collar automatically constricts, in a choking action. It has a sensor that detects the correct width at which to close. Bruising is unusual, but not impossible. The problem with these barking collars is that they have, in rare cases, malfunctioned and choked the dog to death. Shock barking collars are not commonly used today, because it's considered cruel and inhumane. What's worse, is the pet will develop an association with what or who caused him to bark. For example, if a child causes the dog to bark, you may have a dangerous situation. The dog doesn't know barking is wrong. He'll think that looking at that person or object is wrong. As soon as the collar comes off, he will have associated the child with his pain, and may attack him. Remember, no one likes a barking dog. If you've tried other methods to correct him, and they still don't work, then invest in a humane barking collar. Spray bark collars are best, as they don't do physical harm to your pet. It's only natural for dogs to bark, so don't punish him for it, just correct the behavior. I would suggest to only use barking collars if you have been trying everything else before but all the methods you have been trying still do not work. Only when your dog really won't stop barking is a barking collar really a good advice and even professionals agree on that. Your main goal is to create a healthy and natural relationship with your dog and a barking collar might result in the opposite and your dog might never really develop a great relationship with you.
